What We Do

Our Facilities
We are currently planning on opening a 2,145 acre facility up in Guffey, Colorado. This central Colorado location will allow us to provide services to Veterans and horses in the entire state. There are also an additional 12,000 leased acres adjacent to the property, which will allow for a multitude of activities.
Homeless and At-Risk Veteran Crisis
~On a single night in January 2015, 950 Veterans living in Colorado, were found to be staying in temporary homeless shelters or living in unsheltered locations (source: 2015 Annual Homeless Assessment Report)

~As of the 2015 AHAR, almost 10% of the entire Veteran population (not just the homeless or at-risk population) in the state of Colorado have no medical insurance.

~5.9% of ALL Veterans in the state of Colorado are unemployed, the majority of which are homeless or at-risk.

~Homelessness affects ALL Veterans! Men and women, all races and ethnicities, all military branches, and those returning from past and present overseas operations.
Our Equine Crisis
~Horse slaughter was banned in the United States in 2007 and the three remaining US slaughter plants were permanently closed the same year.

~Initially, fewer horses were killed; however, in 2008, "killer buyers" surfaced and began exporting horses to Mexico, Canada, and other coutnries making a substantial profit. This resulted in the slaughter of almost 100,000 horses.

~All types of horses are slaughtered every year. All breeds and ages, from miniatures to draft horses, ponies, pregnant mares, and even foals.

~Treatment of these horses are often cruel and inhumane and they are transported across the borders and to the shipping ports haphazardly.
